S.U.M Effects & Production Studio was born out of a deep love for cinema, television, and visual artistry. We are not a large studio with separate departments and dozens of staff – we’re a tight-knit, dedicated team working out of pure passion, bringing a personal and warm touch to every project.
We started this studio because we saw a gap – many small and mid-size productions wanted high-quality special effects but were discouraged by the high costs and complex processes of big production houses. Our mission from day one has been to give every creator – whether an independent director, a film student, or a TV production – access to professional-grade practical effects that feel real on camera, while staying within a realistic budget and schedule.
We believe a great effect is not just about the right materials and colors – it’s about communication, mutual understanding, and creative problem-solving. That’s why we dedicate time to talking with our clients, understanding their visual and narrative goals, and crafting solutions that balance on-screen impact with practical execution on set.

Our Team
The S.U.M team comes from diverse backgrounds – special makeup artists, sculptors, FX technicians, painters, and even carpenters and mechanics. Each member brings unique expertise that enriches our capabilities as a whole.
